Watertown Fire Rescue responds to house fire.

Watertown Fire Rescue responded to 1731 3rd Ave SW for a house fire on Tuesday July 11 at 8:16 PM.  Upon arrival, crews found a 1 1/2 story house with smoke showing from the roof vents.  Crews encountered heavy smoke and extreme heat upon making entry to the 2nd floor of the structure.  Once ventilation was established crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire which appears to have started in an upstairs bedroom.  All occupants had safely exited the house and no injuries were reported.  WFR was on scene for 2 1/2 hours with 2 engines and an ambulance.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.  WFR would also like to remind residents to always have working smoke detectors in their house.
