Construction Site Erosion and Sediment Control Program

The City of Watertown has developed and implemented the following regulations and procedures in order to reduce the impact of construction activities on the water quality of local waterways: 

•          Adopted the Erosion Control Section of the Stormwater Ordinance  

•          Provided educational training for city personnel and local contractors

•          Adopted Construction Site Erosion and Sediment Control BMP Manual  

•          Developed Standard site plan review, site inspection and enforcement procedures

•          Engaged Phase II Task Force in decisions

Detailed requirements for sites greater than one acre (and sites less than one acre but part of a larger common development greater than one acre) are described in the Construction Site Erosion and Sediment Control BMP Manual  

Sites greater than one acre (and sites less than one acre but part of a larger common development greater than one acre) require a State of South Dakota Stormwater Permit for Construction Activities.
