Children's Programming 

Story Time
Story time programs aim to instill a love of reading by encouraging parents and other special adults to read aloud to children.   Activities in story time promote brain and language development for children from birth to age 5. At story time, children and caregivers are introduced to five early literacy skills that are essential for learning to read including phonological awareness, vocabulary, letter knowledge, print awareness, and background knowledge. Remember: Sing, Talk, Play, Write, READ!

January 2015

Lego Club - Friday, January 23rd 1:00p.m - 3:00p.m.
Looking for some fun during your afternoon off from school? Drop in any time from 1pm until 3 pm and join our Lego Club! Come show off your building skills or try your hand at something new! We will put the finished items on display until our next meeting. We are always looking for more Legos to use in our programming, if you would like to donate, please drop off your Legos at the front desk.

Tween Book Club - Friday, January 23rd 3:30p.m.
Looking for some fun during your afternoon off from school? Check out our new book club for tweens, ages 9-12! Help us choose the books to read, enjoy some snacks, and get to know each other! You can still pick up a copy of our next book, "The Red Pyramid" by Rick Riordan at the desk in the library.

Frozen Party - Saturday, January 24th 2:00-4:00pm

We're celebrating all things Frozen! Drop in for photos with Anna and Elsa, sing along with some of your favorite Frozen songs, and enjoy some Frozen themed snacks and crafts.  Don't forget to wear your favorite Frozen outfit!

Laura Ingalls Wilder Birthday Fun! - Saturday, February 7th 9:30 - 5:00p.m.
Drop in anytime we're open from 9:30 - 5:00pm to celebrate the birthday of beloved children's book author Laura Ingalls Wilder!  Join us for a pioneer scavenger hunt, try your hand some some pioneer games, and enjoy a birthday cupcake!

Valentine's Day Cards and Movie - Friday, February 13th 1:30p.m. - craft starts and 2:30p.m. - movie starts
Enjoy a day off from school at the library! Join us at 1:30 to make and take your own personalized Valentine's Day cards, then stick around to watch a movie and have some popcorn and juice.  We'll be watching a movie starring Ann Hathaway as a princess trying to break a spell based upon Gail Carson Levine's award winning book of the same name.  The movie is 96 minutes long and is rated PG, click here for more information.
