Summer Reading 2021
Story time will be held outside this year on the
south side of the library, and is offered for three
age groups, multiple times a week. If your
regular time slot is scheduled at the same time
as a special event, it will be canceled so that
you and your child can attend the special event.

Have you signed up your little ones for the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program yet? ReadSquared now allows you to enroll your child in a second program. When you log the books you read together, they will automatically be logged in both programs. Your child will earn summer reading prizes for every 50 books you read and your child will be entered in the grand prize drawing after you reach 200 books.
Summer is busy, and we want to say thank you for reading with your kids! Log books you read with your kids of any age, picture books, chapter books, and audio books! You’ll be entered to win gift cards, coloring books, and even a massage! Logging for the whole family across all age groups is easier than ever. Register yourself, add your kids, then log for everyone from one page. You can also log for multiple kids in the same program at the same time.
Craft kits will be available to pick up at the Circulation Desk each week, June 1st-July 30th.

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten (Birth - Kindergarten)
1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is a reading program designed to help parents prepare their children for kindergarten. The most effective way to get your child ready to learn is to read to them. To encourage you in that endeavor, you can sign up children ages Birth to beginning Kindergarten. There are two ways to participate, online or through paper logs.

Story time programs aim to instill a love of reading by encouraging parents and other special adults to read aloud to children. Activities in story time promote brain and language development for children from birth to age 5. At story time, children and caregivers are introduced to five early literacy skills that are essential for learning to read including phonological awareness, vocabulary, letter knowledge, print awareness, and background knowledge.
Remember: Sing, Talk, Play, Write, READ!
**Registration is required for this class.
