The Watertown Police Department employs a full-time Animal Control Officer. Between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm on Monday though Friday, the Animal Control Officer handles all animal related calls for service. These may include calls about animals at large, barking dogs, kennel violations, bites and vicious animals, unlicensed pets, and nuisance or wild animals.
The Animal Control position also serves as a Community Service Officer. In this capacity, he responds to parking complaints and code enforcement (unsightly property) violations.
During evening hours and on weekends, the patrol staff handles animal related calls for service and code violations. The Animal Control Officer and the Patrol staff are both dispatched through the Communications Center. You can contact them at (605)882-6210.
