[ARCHIVED] WFR Responds to a Single Vehicle Rollover

that left two injured and one fatality.

WFR Received a 911 tone for a single vehicle rollover at the intersection of Interstate 29 and the south bound ramp of HWY 212. Medic 3 and Eng. 3 dispatched. While enroute, WPD reported three occupants. One person trapped in the vehicle; one person pinned under the vehicle and one person ejected from vehicle.

Engine 3 called for another ambulance to respond to the scene. Upon arrival they found the rollover approximately 100 yards onto the Interstate in the southbound lane in west ditch with the vehicle on its roof top.

All three occupants were ejected from the vehicle. Two occupants were treated and transported to PLH-ER by WFR ambulances. One occupant was pronounced dead at the scene. No occupants were wearing their seatbelts and slippery roads were believed to be a factor.

The investigation of this accident is being investigated by the SD Highway Patrol.
