[ARCHIVED] National EMS and Police Week

"Go Blue" Parade caps off an exciting week of honoring local first responders.

Flashing lights from police, fire, and rescue vehicles traveled through downtown Watertown ending an exciting week for local first responders. National EMS (Emergency Medical Services) Week and National Police Week were this week honoring first responders around the country.

Watertown Fire Rescue celebrated by wearing different duty shirts, these specially designed shirts highlighted EMS instead of the normal blue fire shirts. Local residents and businesses helped the police, fire, and sheriff departments celebrate by bringing in treats throughout the week.

All of these events were capped off with a "Go Blue" Parade organized by the Watertown Chamber. First responders from around the state were represented in the parade. WFR would like to thank everyone for the treats and remind everyone to thank those who serve tirelessly to protect their community.
