[ARCHIVED] Watertown Fire Rescue responds to house fire

Watertown Fire Rescue was dispatched to a house fire in the NE part of Watertown. Upon arrival firefighters found fire showing in an upstairs window of a two story apartment. All occupants had been alerted to the fire from the smoke detector and had left the building. Firefighters made an aggressive interior attack and extinguished the fire. The fire was extinguished in the entryway to the house, prior to burning into the living area of the apartment. The fire started in the area of a window in the stairway that led to the apartment. WFR was assisted by WPD, CCSAR and Codington County Emergency Management. Lt. C. Noeldner
