On 02-22-2019, at about 1942 hours, officers responded to a family disturbance in the 1800 block of Westminister Avenue. After further investigation, a 38 year old male identified as Jay Arthur Grabinski was arrested for simple assault and active arrest warrants. It was determined that drugs were in the residence and a search warrant was later executed. Over one ounce of methamphetamine, over one pound of marijuana and numerous prescription medications were recovered as a result of the search.
Grabinski was also charged for possession with intent to distribute more than one pound of marijuana, possession of multiple controlled substances, distribution of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia and $2,680.00 in cash was seized pending the forfeiture process.
Grabinski was transported to the Codington County Detention Center and held on a $15,000 cash bond.
There were several other drug arrests over the weekend. A suspicious activity call at a local motel resulted in the arrest of an adult male for possession of meth and paraphernalia. Officers responded to an unwanted man call in southeast Watertown where a man was admittedly under the influence of LSD and had marijuana in his possession. A traffic stop in the SE one pound of marijuana and THC oils were located. Another traffic stop where a syringe loaded with meth was located.
