Distribution and Possession of a Controlled Substance

After an ongoing investigation, Detectives with the Watertown Police Department and Special Agents with the South Dakota DCI made contact with Randall D. Weber on 4-5-19.

After an ongoing investigation, Detectives with the Watertown Police Department and Special Agents with the South Dakota DCI made contact with Randall D. Weber on 4-5-19. Randall, a Watertown resident who is 22 years old, was in possession of 50 hits of acid. Acid is also known as LSD and is considered a psychedelic drug. Short term effects from LSD/Acid are visual hallucinations, distorted sense of time, impulsive behaviors, and quickly shifting emotions. A high or trip from LSD/Acid can sometimes range from 6 to 10 hours. LSD/Acid can be absorbed through the skin so the Watertown Police Department would caution people from touching it.

Randall was subsequently arrested for Distribution of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Distribution of a Controlled Substance is a Class 4 Felony. Possession of a Controlled Substance is a Class 5 Felony.

A Class 4 felony is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and $20,000 fine. A Class 5 is punishable by up to 5 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
