WFR responds to field fire

Apparatus

Watertown Fire units were dispatched to a field on fire at 945pm Monday evening.  It was in rural Codington County near the intersection of 170th St and 446th Ave.  Upon arrival WFR units found a corn field with windrows and cornstalk piles burning.  The fire was extinguished.  Two wildland units were on scene for about 20 minutes.  There were no losses to report from the fire.  WFR would like to remind residents of the county, prior to conducting a controlled burn, please call WPD at 605-882-6210 to inform the dispatch center of the location of the burn.
