WFR responds to head on collision

Apparatus

At approximately 5:00 am on Tuesday morning Watertown Fire Rescue crews responded to East Hwy 212 for a head on collision.  Upon arrival, crews found 2 vehicles that were involved in the incident, one on it's roof and one right side up, both with significant damage.  Air bags deployed in each vehicle, with significant intrusion occurring in each vehicle.  The accident occurred between the 1900 and 2100 block of Hwy 212 East.  Each vehicle had 1 sole occupant.  One patient had to be extricated via emergency hydraulic tools, and was transported to PLH with life threatening injuries.  There was also a fatality as a result of this accident.  There is still an investigation going on and not much more information to release at this time.  No names are being released pending notification of family.  WFR assisted Watertown Police Department on scene.  Again this will be an ongoing investigation with more press information released at a later time.
