[ARCHIVED] WFR assists Henry FD on a house fire

At 310pm Tuesday afternoon Watertown Fire Rescue was paged to assist Henry Fire Department with a house fire in the town of Henry.  WFR sent an engine, water tender, and ambulance to assist with fire operations.  When firefighters arrived on scene HFD members were attacking a fire in an addition to a two story house.  Crews made multiple entries into the house to extinguish the fire which had spread to the attic of the addition and the walls of the main house.  The house and its contents were a total loss and two family pets perished in the fire.  There was no one home at the onset of the fire.  No injuries were reported during the fire.  Henry and Watertown fire personnel were also assisted by members from Florence Fire Department, Codington County Sheriff’s Deputies, Codington County Emergency Management and Codington County Dive Rescue. Crews were on scene four about 6 hours.
