[ARCHIVED] Updated media briefing schedule on COVID-19

The Watertown Area Task Force will be holding a COVID-19 informational briefing for the media at City Hall.  The briefing will take place on Thursday, August 20th at 3:00 pm.  In addition to an update by Mayor Caron, we will have updates provided by representatives from our educational branch of operations covering schools throughout our county.  We will also have a representative from the health care branch of operations to speak about mask-wearing and our community data.

Our briefings are on Facebook live via the page “2020 Watertown COVID-19”, City of Watertown YouTube channel, and GovTV.  Following this briefing, we will continue to hold briefings on an asneeded basis.  At this time we anticipate weekly briefings for the next couple weeks.  We will continue to update our Watertown Covid-19 Facebook page regularly.

We want to remind everyone Covid-19 is still spreading.  People continue to become ill and are at risk of being hospitalized from this disease. Therefore, we ask the public to stay vigilant and continue to practice prevention activities. This includes social distancing, wearing a mask in public when appropriate, washing your hands frequently, and staying home when sick.  We all must do our part to protect ourselves and the community from COVID-19.
