On 03/02/2021, at approximately 8:39 pm, the Watertown Police Department responded to a report of possible drug activity in a parking lot located in the 500 block of 14th Ave. SE.  Officers arrived and made contact with several individuals in the parking lot.

While officers were investigating the incident, individuals left and made a call to the Watertown Dispatch Center.  Their call indicated gunmen were entering a local business. Officers were able to quickly determine this was a false report and that no such incident was occurring.  Officers later arrested the individuals responsible for the false call for Terroristic Threats and False Reporting.

Officers continued their investigation and executed search warrants on three cars, a camper, and an Ice Castle fish house.  Officers located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia during the investigation and execution of the search warrants.  The Ice Castle fish house was determined to be stolen from North Dakota.  

Steven Barnes (30 years old from Detroit Lakes, MN) was charged with Terroristic Threats (Class 5 Felony), False Reporting (Class 1 Misdemeanor), Possession of Stolen Property (Class 6 Felony), Ingesting a Controlled Substance (Class 5 Felony), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class 5 Felony), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Class 2 Misdemeanor).

Stephan Bergeron (37 from Detroit Lakes, MN) charged with Terroristic Threats (Class 5 Felony), False Reporting (Class 1 Misdemeanor), Possession of Stolen Property (Class 6 Felony), Ingesting a Controlled Substance (Class 5 Felony), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class 5 Felony), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Class 2 Misdemeanor).

Alicia Mitzel (19 years old from Detroit Lakes, MN) was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class 5 Felony), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Class 2 Misdemeanor).

The incident is under investigation by the Watertown Police Department.
