Watertown Fire Rescue responded to a mutual aid assist with South Shore Fire


On June 8th at approximately 230 am Watertown Fire Rescue responded for a mutual aid assist with South Shore Fire on Interstate 29 between mile markers 194 and 195. A semi was headed south on the Interstate when it struck a piece of debris and tore the passenger side fuel tank causing it to completely drain and spill about 50 gallons of diesel. Watertown Fire Rescue used floor dry to clean up diesel where it had puddled under the truck when it came to a stop. Watertown Fire Rescue was assisted on scene by South Shore Fire, Codington County Sheriffs office and Performance Towing. Watertown Fire Rescue was on scene for about 1 hour.
