[ARCHIVED] WFR responds to vehicle fire

Vehicle Fire

On February 5, 2026 at 6:45 a.m., Watertown Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported vehicle fire at 1715 16th Ave SE. Upon arrival, crews located an SUV with active smoke and flames coming from the engine compartment. Engine 4 personnel utilized a rotary saw to gain access to the engine area and deployed a hose line to extinguish the fire.

The vehicle was parked in close proximity to a residence; however, no damage occurred to the structure. Crews remained on scene for approximately 30 minutes completing extinguishment, overhaul, and ensuring no fire extension. Watertown Fire Rescue was assisted on scene by the Watertown Police Department.
