16 N. Broadway fire UPDATE

Brewsky's Fire

WFR would like to ask the general public to stay away from the 10 block of N. Broadway and the Kampeska lot as the area is closed to the public. Fire crews are dealing with extremely cold temps and high winds. North winds are pushing heavy smoke through the downtown area. The fire has weakened the original structure and the threat of collapse is likely. Crews will remain on scene throughout today and likely through the night. Watertown Fire Rescue would like to thank the following agencies for the assistance with this fire Watertown Police Department, Codington County Search and Rescue, Codington County Emergency Management, Salvation Army, and Duane's Floor Covering for providing the warming facility. WFR would like to also thank the community for the outpouring of support they have provided to us.
