WFR responds to several fire calls over night. At 1044 pm fire crews were called to 718 3 Ave SW for a deck fire. Upon arrival crews found the fire had been put out for the most part, the steps and deck had caught fire. The home had some fire damage but did not really get started. Crews overhauled and extinguished all hot spots. The cause is under investigation. The deck was removed and set aside. Crews were on scene for about an hour. Everyone was able to get out of the home and no injuries were reported.
Crews were then called to Hubbard Milling at 0223 for a fire alarm. After investigation is was found to be a false alarm with no cause for the alarm.
Crews were then called back to the 718 3 Ave SW at 0506 am for a small fire on the deck. It appeared to have restarted from the earlier fire and was quickly extinguished. Nothing else was burnt.
Just a reminder during a hot and dry period, make sure you properly extinguish smoking butts and discard them appropriately.
