Watertown Fire Rescue responded to a mutual aid request from South Shore Fire Department. South Shore Fire Department had responded to a controlled burn that caused a nearby building to ignite just west of Waverly. South Shore crews requested assistance to help contain the spreading fire which involved a storage building and several vehicles. Firefighters were able to contain the fire quickly after arrival, but unfortunately the structure and vehicles were complete losses. Watertown crews cleared the scene while South Shore firefighters remained to ensure the still smoldering fire did not get out of control.
